A Civilization Among the Stars, a reimagination of the American Dream®

Designing for the Edge of Known Life

Set in a speculative 1970s-inspired future, Mirage blends midcentury optimism with radical technological innovation. This outer space research station isn’t just a home—it’s a high-functioning ecosystem, a research sanctuary, and the headquarters of Earth’s most daring frontier: outer space.

The challenge was dual: create a safe, high-performance research environment for scientists and their families—and ensure it supports emotional well-being, connection, and psychological clarity. Neutra’s belief in “designing for the nerves” echoes here: Mirage needed to feel safe, spacious, and grounded, even when orbiting in weightlessness.

floor plan

This space station isn’t cold steel and science fiction. It’s soft light, long views, framed sky. It’s where environmental systems and emotional ecosystems work in sync. Just as Neutra opened houses to landscape and light, Mirage opens a space colony to psychological health, sensory experience, and human rhythms. This is space architecture not for astronauts, but for lives in progress.

Built for the Minds that Push Boundaries

Mirage is not a place for passengers. It’s for pioneers.

Our primary audience includes leading scientists, researchers, and their families—people at the frontier of energy research, education, and planetary systems. They are joined by institutions, governments, and technologists who believe that the future of human civilization will be shaped where human-centered design meets radical innovation.

A City in Orbit, Designed for the Senses

Every system in Mirage is designed to serve both scientific inquiry and human flourishing.

Research Core: Neutra-inspired modular labs with ample natural light, transparency between rooms, and access to green zones

Greenhouse Preserve: A living dome that serves both ecological research and psychological restoration, echoing Neutra’s idea of healing through nature

Living Quarters: Low-profile, sunlight-oriented modules designed for privacy, flow, and connection—built for families, not astronauts

Tubular Cabin Train: A soft-glide, enclosed transport system that’s quiet, efficient, and even meditative—minimizing stress and disorientation

Command Hub: Designed for clarity and openness, combining control with calm—no blinking lights, just intuitive systems

Recreational Commons: Educational and leisure zones designed for social intimacy and solitude alike, echoing Neutra’s blending of public and private spheres

Mirage is the proof that science and serenity can coexist.

With a closed-loop environmental system, nuclear-solar hybrid energy supply, and smart material choices, Mirage functions as a research powerhouse. But beyond performance, it creates peace—echoing Neutra’s lifelong goal of designing environments that support mental clarity, physical wellness, and human connection. This is the architecture of progress, softened by nature. A station built for minds, and made for the heart.
